The technical assessment of Mitsubishi Heavy Industry·s EU-APWR vs. the revision D of EUR Volume 2 started at the same time as the release of the EUR revision D. This is the first nuclear island assessment towards the EUR revision D and the goal is to finish the assessment and release the EUR Volume 3 subset H EU-APWR within 2 years time. The preparations for the project began in late spring 2012 when a Coordination Group was established in order to manage and administer the project. The Coordination Group is composed of representatives from the sponsors, supporters and the vendor. MHI introduced the EU-APWR to the EUR-organisation at a start-up seminar in Prague in October and has already provided the main part of the standard design documentation.
